About Therapy With Jess

I am a UK based therapist who specialises in working with anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts and trauma.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy to help with your anxiety, OCD or intrusive thoughts, I’m guessing you’ve felt like this for a long time but always put it down to ‘just being a anxious person’ or ‘being a worrier’.

Specialised anxiety & OCD therapy with me can help you let go of compulsions and safety behaviours, accept uncertainty and get back to enjoying your life.

You deserve a life that isn't just focused on coping and managing

The goal of anxiety and OCD therapy is not to be ‘distress free‘ or ‘anxiety free‘. Anxiety is something we will encounter in life.

But what we can do is learn to work with it, to take anxiety out of the driving seat. My clients come to me when they realize they don’t want to spend the rest of their lives feeling out of control and ruled by anxiety and OCD.

By working together and using evidence based therapies like Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) and Acceptance And Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills (CBT) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (I-CBT) you’ll learn to respond differently to obsessional thoughts and doubts and live a meaningful life.

Working with a therapist who specialises in anxiety and OCD meant I felt seen and validated.

Fee's & FAQ

How does therapy work?

Therapy is a space to discuss your challenges with OCD & Anxiety. As an integrative, relational therapist, I use a range of therapeutic techniques to support you.

What are your qualifications?

I am a qualified therapist and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have completed further training in a range of evidence based therapies for Anxiety & OCD - including I-CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What happens after I enquire?

If we have mutual availability, I will email you with a regular appointment slot. We will then schedule an assessment session to discuss your struggles, goals and how we can work together.

Where do sessions take place?

Online sessions will be conducted over Zoom. All you need is a stable internet connection/ mobile data, and a phone, laptop or tablet with a camera.

Face to Face  sessions are based in Pickering, YO18. Once your session is confirmed, you’ll be sent directions to my counselling space.

As part of ERP – there may be times where we take therapy outside and into the world, with your consent. (This depends on your obsessions).

How much are sessions?

Sessions with me are £80 for 60 minutes and can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly. You can state your preference during your enquiry.

I'm nervous about starting therapy.

It's normal to be nervous about staring therapy however, as a relational therapist, I know that it takes time to build trust.
